NITRITE : Griess bi-reagent Method Range: 0 – 1 mg/L ( N- NO2 ) |
PRINCIPLE
The automated procedure for the determination of Nitrite is an adaptation of the diazotization method of “Standard Methods”. Under acidic conditions nitrite ion reacts with sulfanilamide to yield a diazo compound which couples with N-1-naphthylene-diamine dihydrochloride to form a soluble dye which is measured colorimetrically. The color intensity is measured at 550 nm.
